(this is near the power button on the rear of the device)

You will see the lights all flash once during this time.

2). Click on the corresponding link below.

FTTN – Optional Bridge Mode to make your modem/router act as a modem only

This option is useful if you have a MESH Wi-Fi system and you need a modem for your NBN connection

(For Bridge mode, the modem needs a network/ethernet cable plugged into the LAN port. The cable coming from the LAN port will then need to plug into one of the ports on the MESH router, or if it’s another type of router, plug it into the WAN port on the other router)

We will run through this setup using a TP-LINK modem setup as an example.
The setup notes assume the modem has been factory reset and has no prior settings.

Log into your Modem

It is best to set up Bridge Mode with an ethernet cable plugged into one of the other LAN ports.

If you can’t do this, then connect to the WiFi network using the WiFi details on the bottom of the modem.

Open an internet browser and type 192.168.1.1 into the address bar NOT a search bar.
You will be asked to set a password. Use ‘admin’ for now. You can change this later in settings if required.

Next you are prompted to select Country and region for timezone. Select as appropriate from the menus – Click Next

DO NOT CONTINUE WITH QUICK SETUP

Click the ‘Advanced’ Tab
From the left hand menu select ‘Network’ and then ‘Internet’
In the table that appears, click the ‘ + Add ‘ icon on the right hand side.

Make sure the ‘VDSL’ option is selected and then look for ‘Internet Connection Type’.
Choose ‘Bridge’ from the dropdown menu and click ‘Save’

Note: Once in Bridge Mode you will usually lose access to the modem.

So make sure to plug it in as described above, turn off this modem and your Mesh router, then turn the modem on first and wait for 5 min before turning on your router.

Mesh Internet Setup – Wi-Fi router mode only

Guide

1. Go to Google Play or the App Store to download the Deco app. Install the Deco app on your Android or iOS smartphone or tablet.
2. Open the Deco app. Log in or sign up to set up a TP-Link ID.
3. Tap Let’s begin.
4. Select your Deco model.
5. Unpack the contents of the box. Once you verify you have everything, go to the next step.
6. Power off your modem and remove the backup battery if it has one.
7. Connect one of your Deco units directly to your NBN box.
(If you have an FTTN connection you will either need a DSL Deco unit or a VDSL modem. Connect your Deco to the LAN port of the modem and power on both devices).
8. Wait for the ‘Internet’ light to be stable on your NBN box or modem.
9. Wait until Deco’s LED light pulses blue.
(DO NOT jump ahead)
10. Then follow the Deco App prompts.
